Since August 2025, Lena Lauxtermann has been working at the Department of Sport, Exercise and Health (DSBG), following the completion of her studies in Sport Science at the German Sport University Cologne (Germany) and the University of Vienna (Austria). She subsequently worked as a research associate at the University of Vienna, where she also led her first independent study.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of physical activity and mental health. Currently, Lena serves as the principal research coordinator of the PACINPAT+ study, examining the effectiveness of a physical activity counseling intervention for inpatients with depressive disorders within a multicenter randomized controlled trial. The aim is to facilitate the transition from inpatient treatment to everyday life and to strengthen positive experiences with physical activity. In addition, she contributes to the ZBB physical activity counseling program.
