Since July 2025, Zoë Holland-Cunz has been a PhD student at the Department of Sport, Exercise and Health. Her academic background is rooted in sport psychology and sport sociology, which continue to shape her interdisciplinary perspective on health and behavior.
Her current research focuses on the evaluation of innovative training programs, such as exergaming interventions, for inpatients with depressive disorders. In particular, she is interested in understanding the underlying mechanisms through which physical activity exerts its antidepressant effects, combining psychological, behavioral, and social approaches.
From September 2026 onwards, Zoë will be teaching a Bachelor’s course on behavior change theories together with her colleague Céline Stark. In this course, Zoë and Céline aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice by equipping students with both a solid conceptual foundation and practical tools for applying behavior change principles in real-world contexts.
